  1. Synopsis:
  2.    set tab_max [<number>]
  3.  
  4. Description:
  5.    This setting limits the number of tab characters allowed to be displayed
  6.    in any single message.  If more tabs than the specified number are
  7.    present in a message, only the specified number are displayed; the rest
  8.    are replaced with Is.
  9.  
  10.    If this variable is set to 0 (zero), all tabs are displayed, no matter
  11.    how many.  This setting has no effect if TAB is turned off.
